SHAMROCKS ARE CHAMPIONS AT ASA
18U/16U INVITATIONAL Continuing a season
long trend, the 14U Shamrocks played up once again
at the Tri-State Late Summer Invitational. The
Shamrocks emerged from Saturday pool play as the
#2 seed, their only blemish a hard fought loss to
the Mason Dixon Blaze. On Sunday, the Shamrock
hitting and defense was stellar as team after team
succumbed to the Shamrock pressure. Thunderstorms
and high winds rolled in delaying the championship
into the evening hours. The wait was well worth
it as the Shamrocks would have an opportunity to
avenge their only loss in the tournament against
the always tough Mason Dixon Blaze. Great offense
throughout pushed the score up to 7-7 through five
innings. The persistent Shamrocks offense put 2
more on the board in the 6th and held off a 7th
innings rally to capture the championship 9-8.
This team has played up all year at 16 and 18U to
better prepare for the ASA Nationals beginning
August 1st. This nationally ranked 14U team
expects to make a serious run at bringing home the
ASA 14U National championship. GO

14U SHAMROCKS CAPTURE
CHAMPIONSHIP AT 16U FIRECRACKER TOURNAMENT
The 14U Shamrocks went 9-0 to make a clean
sweep of the 2010 Firecracker tournament. In a
superb tournament with top 16U teams from 8 states
and Canada, the team went 3-0 on both Friday and
Saturday emerging as the #1 seed, a perfect 6-0 in
pool play. Championship Sunday brought out the
best in the Shamrocks as the famous “Shamrocks
bats” lit up the 4th of July sky with bomb after
bomb. The long ball combined with a surgical
small ball and excellent pitching proved to be too
much for some very worthy 16U opponents,
particularly the Canadian Ottawa Attack. A hard
fought come from behind 3-2 championship win
against the 16U Heartbreakers capped off the
undefeated weekend for the "Rocks". This
tournament leaves the 14U Shamrocks even better
prepared for a real run for the ASA National
championship in Moline. Next week the 14U
Shamrocks make their only local appearance of the
summer season as they compete at the 18U USSSA
state championships in
Sterling. |

SHAMROCKS TAKE 3RD AT 18U ASA
INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT The 14U Shamrocks
rolled into Wilmington, DE to the 18U ASA Midway
Invitational ready to make some waves. Undefeated
on Saturday, we emerged a #4 seed out of sixteen
18U teams. Teams from 4 states made up the field,
ours being the only non 18U in the mix. Excellent
play in extreme heat, including a grand slam
launched over the 215' sign in left best describes
Saturday's action. On Sunday the oppressive heat
continued as we battled our way to the semifinals
with consecutive wins which included another grand
slam air mailed over the center field fence. A
hard fought 5-3 semi final loss to the eventual
tournament champion ended the "Rocks" run for the
weekend. As noted on this site, this year's 14U
team is playing one of the most difficult and
challenging schedules in all of 14U softball. We
will be playing at the 16U and 18U level in all
remaining tournaments leading up to ASA 14U
Nationals in Moline, IL. This weekend, we made
the program proud as few 14U's could appear at a
tournament of this stature and leave with 3rd
place, WE ARE --- THE SHAMROCKS!!!!!!

Virginia State Champions

Shamrocks 14U ASA Virginia
State Champions On a steamy hot weekend in
Lynchburg, the Shamrocks arrived on a mission: a
national berth and the VA STATE championship.
Fresh off a tune up facing excellent 16U teams,
the Green and Gold were not to be denied. With
timely hits and shut down pitching, they jumped
immediately into the winners bracket, which is
where the "Rocks" stayed. Excellent teams such as
the VA Legends and RBI Inferno played us tough
this weekend. During the high school season, some
other Virginia teams had anxiously awaited the
appearance of the Shamrocks on the travel circuit
after high school, mockingly asking: "when will
the leprechauns come out to play". Well, play we
did - winning the Championship in a run rule
slaughter, which ended early after posting 4 runs
in the 2nd then ending it with 5 more, in what has
to be described as a hitting exhibition. Congrats
to the Vienna Stars on their ASA bid after getting
to the championship game from the losers bracket.
It was a perfect end to a perfect weekend, all
coming in the quest to bring the ASA National
Championship back to the house built by none other
than the SHAMROCKS!

SHAMROCKS TAKE 3rd AT 16U
PRINCETON EVENT In search of top teams to
play, the 14U Shamrocks once again headed north to
Princeton, NJ to compete in a sixteen team event
at the 16U level. In a weekend filled with
excellent performances by Shamrock players, they
emerged a #1 seed with a perfect 3-0 record in
Saturday pool play. After winning two games in
Sunday elimination play, the Shamrocks fell to one
of NJ’s best 16U teams 3-2 in a hard fought semi
final game. High winds and no 200 foot fence
pushed a sure walk off homer back into play for a
catch with runners in scoring position on the last
play of the game. A very successful 5-1 weekend
for the 14U Shamrocks playing up at the 16U level.
This team continues to prepare for ASA Nationals
and this type of tournament and the competition of
the best 16’s from PA and NJ only helps us get
better. Shamrocks travel south to Lynchburg, VA
next weekend to compete at the ASA State
tournament. |

| SHAMROCKS 14U Win Championship
and Defend Title at Newtown Rock
Tournament Shamrocks 14’s played north of
Philadelphia over the Memorial Day weekend seeking
to defend their 2009 championship at the "Rock".
Facing a selection of the toughest teams from PA
and NJ, the Shamrocks emerged on Sunday as the #5
seed after stumbling in pool play with a loss to
the always tough host Newtown Rock. By the close
of day two of this prestigious 3-day event, the
Shamrocks remained the lone surviving team south
of the Mason Dixon Line. The other participating
VA teams were summarily dismissed in elimination
play, gone by Sunday evening. Final elimination
play began on Monday and the Shamrocks went on a
roll, winning all of their games in the winners
bracket on their way to winning the championship
of this ASA national qualifying event. This
weekend was the first chance for the team to play
due to heavy high school ball commitments that
resulted in state championships, conference
titles, division titles, all conference and all
met honors for many on the roster. A ten week
stretch is now underway with tournaments scheduled
in nine states, truly one of THE most aggressive
14U schedules found anywhere in travel softball.
This 14U Shamrock team is a force to be reckoned
with! Shamrock teams from the 14, 16 & 18U
levels all won championships this weekend ensuring
the beacon high atop this DYNASTY, Shamrock’s
softball, shone brightly over the softball world
with many more championships to come. There is
only one

Shamrocks Head to Florida to
Play at 16U/18U in Rising Stars While most
teams are "shutdown" for the winter, Shamrocks 14U
traveled to "sunny" Florida to play up at the
16U/18U levels in the Rising Stars Showcase.
Arriving in Fort Lauderdale to find the coldest
conditions in recorded history there, the "'Rocks"
played two 18U's and three 16U's on their way to a
3-2 weekend. Asking to play the very best both
divisions had to offer did not disappoint as top
teams from Illinois, Colorado, Alabama and Florida
lined up to compete with this 14U team. Excellent
pitching and timely hitting represented the
"talked about" team in a proud way as our girls
continued to prepare to challenge for the ASA
National Championship. Shamrocks at Rising Stars
is a proud tradition and this 14U team performed
defeating two 16U's and one 18U. Games were hard
fought and served the purpose of competing at the
VERY highest level for any team, let alone a 14U.
Shamrocks 14U continue to make noise on the
national scene as the 14U team to watch this
season. |

SHAMROCKS ARE CHAMPIONS OF
HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION - WIN STREAK AT 28
After dominating the 14U teams in the mid
atlantic this fall, the Shamrocks were forced to
travel 325 miles south into North Carolina seeking
better competition and warmer temperatures. The
Shamrocks registered for and competed in the high
school division primarily made up of 16U teams. A
perfect 4-0 Saturday propelled the Shamrocks into
Sunday where they arrived ready to win it all in
bracket play. The explosive Shamrock bats and
dominant pitching continued all the way through
the finals resulting in another championship and
undefeated tournament. For the weekend the
Shamrocks outscored their opponents 33-3 keeping
their win streak alive and well at 28. At a time
when most teams have already hung up their cleats
for the winter, the Shamrocks continue playing and
winning with an overall fall record of 29-1-1.
Next up the Shamrocks will be traveling even
further south to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where
they will compete at the prestigious Rising Stars
Showcase at the 16U level. An impressive fall now
rolls into the winter as the Shamrocks 14U
continue to make a name for themselves as a
powerful hitting team with exceptional defense
and lights out pitching.

SHAMROCKS WIN HALLOWEEN
CLASSIC, EXTEND WIN STREAK TO 21
Competing in the finest Halloween
tournament in the mid Atlantic, the Halloween
Classic 2009, the Shamrocks outlasted a field of
23 teams to capture another championship and win
the coveted Witch’s trophy. With a combination of
great defense, excellent offense and tremendous
pitching the Shamrocks went undefeated for a
fourth consecutive tournament. After a thrilling
ITB win over a superb Diamond State Swoop team in
the Semi Finals, the Shamrocks advanced to the
championship game to face the always tough Vienna
Stars. After a fierce battle thru regulation the
championship game also went to ITB. In the bottom
half of the 7th inning and a runner on second, a
walk was issued to the #3 hitter. The #4 hitter
in classic Shamrock style stepped in and deposited
a monster home run over the center field fence for
the walk off victory. The shamrocks consecutive
win streak is now extended to 21 games with an
overall fall record of
22-1-1. |

14U Shamrocks Champions at 16U
NSA Fall States On a
weekend when cold wet weather wiped out virtually
all softball in the mid atlantic, the Shamrocks
traveled 225 miles south to Salem to compete in
this annual NSA event. This was their first
experience playing up at the 16U level and they
did not disappoint their faithful who braved wind
chills in the 30's to watch them dominate the
tournament. The legendary Shamrocks offense along
with lights out pitching from the entire staff
combined to outscore their six opponents 54-4.
This third consecutive undefeated tournament
pushed their fall record to 16-1-1. Without
question, this was truly a Shamrock performance
that will not soon be
forgotten. |

SHAMROCKS GO UNDEFEATED AT
POTOMAC RIVER CLASH For the second time in
as many weeks, the Shamrocks rolled through a
tournament undefeated. Eighteen teams battled
each other and the rain drops to compete in this
annual USSSA event held in Sterling. The Shamrock
offense was hitting on all cylinders averaging
more than seven runs per game. Both the long ball
as well as surgically placed bunts were used to
defeat opponents including a thrilling 7-6 win
against the self proclaimed power Glory Diamond
Elite. |

SHAMROCKS ARE CHAMPIONS AT ASA
HALL OF FAME QUALIFIER
In their first ASA outing of the fall season, the
Shamrocks won the Region al Qualifier, earning a
berth to the 2010 Hall of Fame Classic in Oklahoma
City with an impressive undefeated weekend against
undeniably the best fast pitch programs in the
region. The best teams in the region were there
for one reason, to win a bid to one of the most
prestigious ASA tournaments. Wins against the
Richmond Ruckus and Riviera Beach Spirit in pool
play on Saturday earned the Shamrocks a #1 seed
heading into championship play. The shutout
pitching and timely hitting continued as the
Shamrocks rolled through championship play with
shutouts against the RBI Inferno and the Vienna
Stars. The championship game was a rematch of a
game played earlier in the day as the Vienna Stars
re-emerged as the winners of the losers bracket.
The Shamrocks lethal offense followed this
impressive pitching performance, when the “ROCKS”
bats came alive in the fifth inning scoring four
runs then added two more in the sixth culminating
in a walk off slaughter and an ASA championship
for the Shamrocks. An excellent performance and
earning the right to represent the entire region
in Oklahoma in the summer of 2010. Shamrocks plan
to represent well and strive to win it along with
the ASA National Championship. A great start to
the ASA season for us, THE
